Last Night went on a bit longer than expected… i was room raided at about 10PM by a officer off the British battalion telling me i needed to do battle for the commonwealth… ie… Drink largers until the sun comes up!.

So we went out last night until around 2 AM and i had my fist red bull and Vodka for a very long time….. i had forgotten how sweet it is and after ingesting the contents of my cup, which i would describe as a poverty form of cough medicine, i waited patiently for the rush of sugar and caffeine followed by the heart palpitations that would later follow while i sweated it out inn bed 3 hours later.
Today is Thursday the 9th, this was the original day i was supposed to be Exiting the lovely city of Kiev, however David and i are traveling down to Odessa by the sea to go and lie on the beach
David is a early 30’s mail and teaches economics back in Germany, it is currently his summer break so he takes this 6 week period to explore Europe.
The time is 10.30 AM and i have to be checked out at a lazy 11AM, the hostel staff don’t enforce this rule with military precision but its a courtesy to the house keeping team who will change the sheets for the next person, i check out and give David a text
-“Hey Mate, Where are you ?”
-“ In the cafe next door having breakfast”
I made my way next door to the cafe attached to the Hostel, David was sitting at a table drinking a coffee relaxing on his phone , i sat down and we started talking abut ur cars for a few minutes while i waited for the Host to bring a menu over to me, just as we were getting in-depth, Carley the Canadian….Also a Teacher comes past stops and bluntly say
– “This is the worst conversation i have heard all morning “
David and i laugh and agree to stop promptly and go back to the dynamic conversations of the last 3 days of world politics , travels and life at home.
For breakfast i had a grilled cheese sandwich…. oddly enough I wouldn’t have a grilled cheese sandwich but seeing how it was almost 11.30 i felt that this was an appropriate thing to have.. and gosh cheese is amazing! And great cheese is something i would call orgasmic!
After breakfast David had to make a few calls and emails back home so it was time to make my way out to the courtyard where the left over troops were left spread out wounded and gasping for air from the nights antis before, luckily i was smart enough to leave the evening when someone called “SHOTS” ….. in words of wisdom…. shots will only ever lead to pain and misery the next day….. and this was very much apparent.
We sat there bathing in the sun. Today was the day where most of us would ship out to new locations across the Ukraine countryside, Luke was off to the middle of nowhere to stay in a log cabin that one of his friend owned, Selak was off back to Copenhagen and David and I were about to board a train to the coast.
Paul the Australian is staying on for another week and will fly out of Frankfurt International Airport next Friday back to the motherland of didgeridoo’s and kangaroos.

Selak thought it would be appropriate to drink some more beer and it seemed like a logical idea considering we were just sitting there twiddling ur thumbs, 1662 Blonde was the beer of choice and i still Stand by the wise words of “ Nothing beats a cold beer in the sweltering hot summer sun”.
It was nearing onto 3.30 PM , so David and i booked a cab to the Main train station and we traveled about 6KM and it cost us about 3 Euros for the journey…. bank breaking costs on this leg of the journey

The train station is not what i would call a Russian masterpiece but it has a level of beauty to it that displays communist power and pride, the roof and chandeliers were covered in gold detailing that was subtle yet still reminded the people of there past connection with the criminalistics government, the building has about 500 people mulling around the marble staircases ad departure boards, David quickly navigated to the departing train board and soon found trail 673, heading to Odessa was leaving on platform one, easy to find as the departure board was located right next to the 1st Platform.

The train arrived at the station right on time a 4.15PM, exactly 20 minutes before departure, i am in carriage #4 in second class , David got an early ticket and wrangled 1st Class…. but at double the cost…so I’m not sure who got the better end of the deal.
The train travels at 75KM/h and will arrive into Odessa at 11.36PM tonight, the train is a full train and i am sitting in a formation of 6, a mother sits at my 2 O’clock position along with her 2 daughters sitting at 1 & 12 O’clock Positions , they Would be about 5 and 3 years old.
To my right is 2 Ukrainian women traveling down to the coast, I’m not sure if they speak any english and during this train ride i don’t exactly to plan on finding out on this train journey.
The sun will set soon on the rolling fields of Ukraine and yet again the day will reset itself to another great day in the amazing country of Ukraine
